A Tutorial

Hey guys! I wanted to share with you a quick tutorial for your nails. I've been eying some different essie nail polish colors which I finally decided to buy right before Easter. This is what my I did for Easter:

Here is what you need:
  • Scotch tape
  • any solid shade (I used Essie's "Fiji")
  • any sparkly color (I used Essie's "set in stone")
  • and a clear top coat (I used Essie's "good to go")

Step 1
Paint all nails on one hand the solid color you chose. For this shade of pink I had to do a couple coats since it is such a light color.

Step 2
Once your nails are dry paint a layer of the top coat. I only did this for one hand and believe me, it makes a huge difference. Don't skip this step. :)

Step 3 and 4
Once your nails are completely dry, take a small piece of tape and put diagonally on a nail. It should cut across one top corner but it won't go directly to the opposite corner, if that makes sense. Next paint a layer of glitter, make it as thick or thin as you like. I just made sure it covered the nail in an even layer.

Step 5 and 6
Carefully peel off the tape, don't wait until the glitter is dry. The picture on the left is what happened when I skipped step 2. If some of the under color peels up with the tape, don't worry. It's easily fixable, just inconvenient. All you do is carefully fill in the patches with the color. And once the glitter is dry, put a final top coat on all the nails.

Then repeat all the steps on your other hand and your done!

Enjoy you shiny smooth nails!!
