A Few Beauties

I had the honor of photographing the couple that leads the worship at my youth group. They got married last year and I took their engagement photos in Sept. 2010. However, this year, armed with a better camera and more experience, I asked them if they wanted some more photos and they happily agreed. You can't tell yet, but they're expecting a baby in late May!

I will post more photos from the shoot later, right now I wanted to link up some pictures.

The Family Room {Home Edition}

Do you have a room in your house that's a special room? A room where kids can play and be wild and school can be done and family members can enjoy each other? A room that's houses the TV and the wii and also functions as the prayer room and mud room? Well we do and it's called our Family Room.

Taken with Dad's iphone in July:

This next picture is my entry for {A Photo} Challenge:

I didn't know that Joey would round the corner and start running towards me, which explains why he's out of focus, but I still find this so cute!

Yesterday:
Toys are typically strewn across the family room floor :)

I let Benny use my camera to take a picture of me. It was supposed to focus on me, but I like how it turned out!

Don't know what this face is for!

I love our family room.

Randomness

Hey guys! I know I've been MIA lately but with all my school work my free time is limited. I've sort of taken a small break from photography, I think I took 5 pictures this whole past week and a half. But that's okay. Sometimes it's good to have breaks.

Theme: Focus
Macro of the frayed edges of a rose pillow I made.

Theme: That You Are Proud Of
I went out after a storm and saw the puddles of water on our deck and the loved the green reflection, I love the way it turned out.
I know for both of the challenges they ask you to blog hop around and comment on others and I do try and comment on other blogs, however for those of you that don't know, I disabled the comments on my blog a little while ago. I did this because I needed to step away and put my focus more on my relationships and faith life rather than photography and this blog. (You can read more about it here: Changes).
Thanks for visiting!

A Pixel Perfect Day

(I meant to post this Tuesday night and I wrote all of it Wednesday night, but our internet connection  stopped working temporarily and I couldn't actually post it. Our internet is working again and this is the first chance I've gotten to post it.)

Hello dear friends! Thanks so much for taking the time to visit me and comment. :) I don't know about you, but I had a beautiful day.
I baked cookies...
yes, we get the BIG bag :)

chocolate chip cookie dough!!!mmmmm

I watched my siblings...

I did Algebra 2 (shudder)...

I did my chores...
I have a billion and one t-shirts which I keep nice and neat in my dresser, folded and organized by color. My dear mother laughs at me.

I had a spontaneous photo shoot with some of my younger siblings, which involved a red umbrella...
I'm entering this photo in {A Photo} Challenge [theme = someone you love]:
Rose: 6 years old, adorable, funny, quirky and sweet!

{A Photo} Challenge

and the cornfield behind our house...
Benny: 4 years old, crazy, wild, fun and adorably affectionate.
Max: 8 1/2 years old, sweet and sensitive with amazing athletic abilities.

(The only thing that bugs me about all the above photos, is I wish I had put a clip in Rose's hair, she has hair in her face in practically every photo)

Then I painted my nails...
Then I decided I was in the mood for granola bars, but we didn't have any. So I jumped online and went to one of my favorite websites: allrecipies.com , searched "quick and easy granola bars", printed the first one that looked good, and whipped them up they were delicious!
Homemade Chewy Granola Bars

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
  • 1/3 cup peanut butter
  • 1/4 cup honey
  • 1/4 cup butter, melted
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 1/2 cups quick-cooking oats
  • 1/2 cup rice crispy cereal
  • 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips

Directions

  1. In a small mixing bowl, combine the brown sugar, peanut butter, honey, butter and vanilla. Stir in the oats, and rice crispy. Fold in chocolate chips.
  2. Press into an 8-in. square baking dish coated with nonstick cooking spray. Bake at 350 degrees F for 15-20 minutes or until set and edges are browned. Cool completely on a wire rack. (Optional: cover and put in fridge for a couple hours). Cut into bars.
